Where once life sciences companies were suppliers to the healthcare providers, today they are partners in the delivery of care, increasingly shaping the healthcare ecosystem. As patient empowerment and new care and payment models are mushrooming in the world, life sciences companies need to take a longitudinal view of the patient. Together with designated professionals we want to discuss concrete use cases and best practices around the opportunities and threats of digitization in life sciences.
Let's discuss this hot topic together with our top speakers and the life sciences leader community. We will cover various angles concerning the digitization in the life sciences ranging from case studies to best practices with a focus on leading digital diagnostics and new patient-centric platforms.
Frank Hemm, Executive Vice President - Marketing & Education, Straumann Group
Digitalization has profound implications on dentistry, including treatment planning, patient communication, customization of products, and data management. Digital technology changes the roles of manufacturers, dentists and dental labs along the value chain with associated risks for established business models and opportunities for new ones. Integrated treatment concepts along the entire life cycle of natural and artificial dentition are evolving. Frank Hemm will illustrate these trends from the perspective of the leading dental implant manufacturer. Frank joined Straumann in 2004 and was responsible for Corporate Business Development & Licensing, Head of Sales, Western Europe, he was responsible for the Asia/Pacific Region and expanded Straumann’s presence in China. He is member of the Executive Management Board and responsible for global Marketing & Education.
Tim M. Jaeger, Global Head of Diagnostics Information Solutions, Roche Diagnostics
As medical data increases exponentially, the implication for researchers, laboratory techs or physicians and ultimately patients is a complexity of divergent workflows. Roche is innovating rapidly and on a large scale to harness the data of today to create a better customer experience tomorrow. Tim M. Jaeger, MD PhD MBA, will explain in his role as global leader for diagnostics information solutions how Roche aims to become a leader in digital diagnostics.
Catherine Barras, Director Global Health & Life Sciences Advisory Services, DXC Technology
Catherine Barras has worked in healthcare IT for over 15 years in different roles such as advisory services, solution development and business development. She will present a new platform approach based on an ecosystem of next-generation technologies which helps healthcare providers and life sciences companies to work together in the delivery of care to gain a holistic view on the patient from prevention to diagnosis to treatment and ongoing health maintenance.
